Penelope Roskell: Yoga for Musicians
Whether you're a student or seasoned pro, [this DVD] will pay for itself immeasurably in freedom from aches, pains and tiredness, and possibly even free up your playing posture and technique. A remarkable source of information for all musicians.
- David Etheridge, Performing Musician.com, Feb 2008
The first DVD aimed purely at musicians, Penelope Roskell demonstrates clearly and concisely how yoga principles can be applied directly to instrumental playing. The DVD is ideal for musicians of any age, from beginner to professional. The exercises demonstrated will be particularly beneficial to musicians suffering from injuries, tension or stress. No previous experience of yoga is required.
|This is an excellent DVD. The instruction is not intimidating and user-friendly (and especially musician-friendly) even for a beginner. The setting and location of the video is beautiful to look at as well. I've used a few other Yoga videos and this one had a lot of simple and helpful stuff I've never seen before - customer feedback, Feefo, March 2010|

Great attention is given to detail, with clear explanations of the benefits of each exercise, how to combine the movements with the breath, and how many times to repeat the movement. The pace of the presentation is well judged. Using this DVD with pupils, or teaching a few of the given exercises to a pupil as part of a warm-up, could be hugely beneficial…an excellent introduction to yoga for musicians. - Music Teacher
Roskell puts across the basic principles in a clear, simple, undemanding way – the ideal way to lead the uninitiated to water and let them drink of the benefits that yoga can bring. - The Singer
This is a very important publication – it cannot be overstated how vital a need this video serves. Professionally filmed in an attractive setting…highly recommended. - Piano Journal
An excellent DVD… Penelope Roskell has done a great service to all musicians whatever instrument they play by producing this DVD. A very useful resource. - Flutewise Magazine
